Every programme, side by side

Each entry links straight to the awarding body. Filter by field, or search by provider, skill or credential name.

Nothing matches that search

Try a provider (Google, PMI, Cisco), a field (security, finance) or a skill (analytics, networking).

Career pathways

Which order to take them in

Certifications compound. These are common sequences — a broad foundation first, a role-specific credential next, a specialist or senior credential once you have the experience behind you.

Route 01

Data Analyst

From spreadsheets to dashboards and statistical work, in roughly 9–18 months of part-time study.

  1. Google Data Analytics CertificateSpreadsheets, SQL, R and the analyst workflow, from zero.
  2. Power BI (PL-300) or TableauA tool credential employers actually name in job adverts.
  3. Databricks or a cloud data credentialScale up to pipelines and warehouses once you have a portfolio.
Route 02

Cloud & DevOps Engineer

The most consistently in-demand technical track, and the one with the clearest certification ladder.

  1. AWS Cloud Practitioner or Azure FundamentalsVocabulary, billing models and core services.
  2. Associate-level architect or administratorThe credential that moves you from support into engineering.
  3. CKA plus Red Hat RHCSAHands-on lab exams that prove you can operate, not just recall.
Route 03

Cybersecurity Analyst

Security hiring leans heavily on certifications because so much of the work is unobservable from a CV.

  1. CompTIA Security+ or ISC2 CCThe entry credential most SOC job adverts ask for.
  2. CEH or CompTIA CySA+Threat detection, incident response and offensive basics.
  3. CISSP, CISM or OSCPSenior or specialist — each needs real years behind it.
Route 04

Project & Delivery Manager

Portable across industries, and one of the few tracks where the credential is often a hard filter.

  1. CAPM or PRINCE2 FoundationVocabulary and method before you have led a project.
  2. Certified ScrumMaster or PSM IAgile delivery, now the default in most product teams.
  3. PMPThe senior benchmark — needs documented leadership hours.
Route 05

Digital Marketer

Almost entirely free to certify in, which makes the portfolio matter more than the badge.

  1. Google Skillshop & HubSpot AcademyAds, analytics and inbound fundamentals at no cost.
  2. Meta CertificationPaid social buying, proctored and employer-recognised.
  3. Semrush or an analytics specialismSEO, content or measurement depth to separate you.
Route 06

Finance Professional

The longest routes on this page — multi-year exam series with genuine gatekeeping value.

  1. NISM modules or a foundation certificateRegulatory basics; mandatory for many Indian market roles.
  2. CFA Level I or FRM Part IInvestment analysis or risk, depending on the desk you want.
  3. Full CFA charter, ACCA, CPA or CACommitted multi-year study plus a work-experience requirement.
How to choose

Four questions before you pay

Certifications are a real investment of money and evenings. These are the checks that separate a credential that opens doors from one that only empties a wallet.

Does hiring actually ask for it?

Search 20 live job adverts for the role you want and count how many name the credential. If it appears in fewer than a quarter, treat it as learning rather than as a hiring signal.

Who awards it?

A credential from the organisation that builds the technology — or from a chartered professional body — carries weight. A certificate of completion from a course marketplace is a study record, not a credential.

How is it assessed?

Proctored exams, hands-on labs and multi-year exam series are hard to fake, so employers trust them. Untimed multiple-choice quizzes prove attendance and little else.

What does it cost to keep?

Many credentials expire in two to three years and need continuing-education credits or a renewal fee. Budget for the whole cycle, not just the first exam.

Before you enrol

A short pre-flight check

Work through these once, and you will avoid the two most common outcomes: paying for an exam you never sit, and passing an exam that nobody asked for.

Common questions

Frequently asked

Are free certifications taken seriously?

It depends entirely on who awards them. A free Google Skillshop or HubSpot credential is issued by the company whose platform you will be using, so it is respected for exactly that. Free courses on open platforms such as SWAYAM, NPTEL and IBM SkillsBuild teach real material; where they offer a paid proctored exam at the end, that exam is the part that carries hiring weight.

How long does a certification take?

Entry-level online certificates typically run 3–6 months at a few hours a week. Associate technical exams take 6–12 weeks of focused preparation. Professional bodies such as PMI and IIBA expect several months plus prior experience, and the finance charters (CFA, ACCA, CA) are multi-year commitments.

Do certifications expire?

Many do. Most cloud and security credentials are valid for two to three years and are renewed through continuing-education credits, a shorter renewal assessment or a fee. Academic-style qualifications and the chartered finance designations generally do not expire, though membership dues may apply.

Certification or a degree?

They answer different questions. A degree signals breadth, endurance and general reasoning; a certification signals a specific, current, verifiable skill. For a career change or a technical step up, a certification is usually faster and cheaper. For regulated professions and for roles with formal academic entry requirements, the degree is not optional.

How many should I hold?

Two or three relevant credentials read as focus. Eight unrelated ones read as avoidance of real work. Depth in one track beats a wide, shallow collection almost every time.

Can I get financial support in India?

Yes, in several forms. Skill India Digital and NSDC-affiliated programmes are subsidised or free, SWAYAM and NPTEL charge only a modest exam fee, and most global providers offer discounted student or regional pricing. Many employers also reimburse exam fees on a pass — ask before you pay.
